Copy of Parking Ticket

**Please note that the DC Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) does not issue tickets

The vast majority of parking tickets issued in the District of Columbia are issued by the DC Department of Public Works' ticket writers using electronic handheld ticket devices. The actual ticket is placed on the vehicle. If you receive a parking ticket issued by DC DPW, you may visit the DC DPW website, then search TICPIX to see images of the parking violation and resulting ticket. Any images available will be posted 72 hours after a ticket is issued, but not all violations will have associated pictures.

However, DC DMV can provide you with a copy of the ticket through our website and show all the information entered by the ticket writer.

Some parking enforcement officers use manual ticket books. Since these manual tickets are handwritten by the ticket writer, they may contain personal information, which is subject to privacy laws; therefore, the handwritten tickets cannot be displayed through DC DMV's website.

You can view and print a copy of a parking ticket on this website subject to the following:

  1. The ticket number is required.
  2. The ticket is an electronic ticket, not a handwritten ticket.
  3. The ticket is a parking ticket, not a photo or moving violation ticket.
  4. The ticket has been turned in by the issuing officer and has been uploaded to the ticket database.
